Event Details

The "Wieczor Koled" is an elegant but fun event, held in cooperation with, and on the premises of, the Polish Consulate.  We Americans of Polish Descent celebrate our dual heritage by singing Christmas carols in both Polish and English.  The chorus is “do-it-yourself” – everyone sings.  There are songbooks, and a pianist provides the melody.

Part of Polish culture is good food.  After the singing wraps up, we share oplatek and proceed to a sumptuous buffet of authentic Polish food.

The event starts at 4:30, with cocktail hour.  (A good time to chat and catch up with friends.)  At about 5:15 we sing.  By about 6:15 the singing wraps up, and the food buffet begins.  The evening will start winding down around 7:30.

This is a fund raiser.  The event is expensive to put together (food, drinks, security, and clean-up) so the donation this year is $27.  (Late registration, after Jan 13, is $35.)  Fee for Students is just $10.  Children are free when accompanied with two adults.  A portion of excess revenues will be donated to the Polish Media Issues group, in Great Brittain.

Who should attend: AMOPODs -- i.e. Americans of Polish Descent.  If you are a person of refinement and intellect who learned (or at least heard) both Polish Koledy and American Christmas carols in your youth, please come by.

This is a family event; well behaved children are welcome.

Parking will be available at North Ave Beach
